The Challenge
Energage, a fast-growing HR technology company, needed to become leaner to compete in a quickly changing market. They held a reduction in force (RIF) event, the first of its kind in the company’s history.
With limited RIF experience and a passion to do right by their displaced workers, Energage needed expert guidance and support to ensure the event would run smoothly while also taking care of their employees’ future.
The Goal
Energage wanted to offer an outplacement program to their displaced workers, ensure the event went smoothly from start to finish, and help their workers land new roles quickly. They required a strategic partner to guide their team through every step of the process.
The Solution
Careerminds’ RIF Manager Training and Future Teams Training were instrumental in supporting Energage during their reduction. Expert coaches customised and delivered professional notification meetings and provided survivor support to remaining employees, going beyond the scope of traditional providers.
Energage leveraged Careerminds’ on-site coaching support for the day of notifications, so impacted employees were able to personally connect with coaches for emotional counseling and to better understand the outplacement services they were being offered.
Careerminds’ outplacement program provided dedicated one-on-one career coaching, expert resume writing, and a robust digital toolkit. As a result, every displaced employee working with Careerminds landed a new role after the event, with an average placement time of just 9.2 weeks.
The Result
- 88% registration rate
- 100% of participants landed
- 9.2 weeks average landing time
- 100% participant satisfaction
“I was really impressed with Careerminds’ professionalism and expertise. They had helpful answers to our questions and helped us through some difficult conversations.”
